Girl in a Coma is a rock band from San Antonio, Texas – land of puffy tacos, Lone Star Beer, and the place where Ozzy pissed on the Alamo. The band has been compared to The Smiths, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the Pixies. Drawing from these influences (the band’s name, Girl in a Coma, comes from the classic Smiths song "Girlfriend in a Coma"), the Girls have managed to create a sound and style that not only pays homage to their heroes, but is uniquely their own.

is a three-piece heavy metal band from Columbus, Ohio, but now based in Brooklyn, New York. Mike Conte is the guitarist, bassist and vocalist. Adam Bennati plays the drums. The story is that Conte and Bennati were shielded from the world by their Pentecostalist parents until age 19, when they discovered rock music. Influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest, Kreator, Celtic Frost, and Minor Threat, their classic but inventive sound caught fire quickly and they were signed by Monitor Records, who released their first EP in early 2005. Larger label, Matador, quickly signed them to a better deal and agreed to release their debut LP, Closing In, in the fall of the same year. A 2nd guitarist, Pete Macy, has been added to the band's lineup.
